Who are we?
We're a group of motivated university students in Groningen, who have teamed up to provide the most exhilarating university experience so far!"Amicus Civitas" stands for "Friends of the community" in Latin, and we hope to do just that!We think Groningen is a beautiful city, and we can build an even more beautiful community within it ❤
Our purpose
Our goal is to create a very close-knit community and network of international students in Groningen.Elevate the university experience of our members to the highest degree through unique, unforgettable events and activities!Last but not least, we strive for a strong media presence, to spread fun and positivity throughout Groningen.
Becoming a member:
- Being part of a very big, wholesome and close group of friends, where you can feel at home as an international!- Improvement of social and mental well-being through countless activities TOGETHER!- Priority access to all Amicus events.- Access to members-only events and activities!- Free and/or discounted access to all Amicus events.ALL OF THAT and so much more for less than 6.50 euros!(Subscription lasts until the end of the student year, August 2024)
OUR EVENTS
Our events committee will organise a WIDE range of events and activities ranging from INSANE parties, karaoke nights, to many other unique activities with our own Amicus twist :)Meaning you always have events to look forward to where you can enhance your university experience and meet new people !
Wellbeing 🌿
We have committees specifically made to assure your succsessful introduction and integration into the association and the city.We want to really focus on you and provide a safe space to fall back on in hard times, and ultimately help students help each other!We also offer numerous opportunities for everyone to improve upon their personal growth, academics, and especially wellbeing!!

Finally, we want to put a lot of focus into producing innovative, wholesome content in Groningen.All our members would be part of our community where we creatively combine together to create positive and entertaining content for the betterment of our community in Groningen.
